The leading trade show for green technologies, Ecomondo, will take place at the Rimini Expo Centre from November 5-8, 2024. It is expected to attract 650 hosted buyers from North Africa, Europe, North America, and Latin America, along with delegations from 100 countries and 72 organizations, institutions, and associations worldwide.

On October 30, 2024, IEG CEO Corrado Peraboni highlighted Ecomondo’s significance as a global hub for the green economy, stating, “With delegations from over 100 countries and the participation of 72 organizations, institutions, and sector associations worldwide, the exhibition acts as a community catalyst through a series of international appointments that extend throughout the year.”

Maurizio Ermeti, President of IEG, noted the event’s international scope, indicating that participation includes 650 hosted buyers with increasing interest from Central Asia, China, Southeast Asia, Pakistan, and India. This growth is supported by collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Alessandra Astolfi, IEG’s Global Exhibition Director for Green & Technology, elaborated on Ecomondo’s international network, which extends beyond Italy through related events. Notable upcoming events include Ecomondo Mexico (March 5-7, 2025) and Ecomondo China – CDEPE (March 27-29, 2025), targeting the Latin American and Chinese markets, respectively.

The 2024 edition will emphasize partnerships with the African continent, in line with the Italian government’s Mattei Plan and the African Green Growth event, organized in collaboration with the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security. To date, 8 delegations from Africa and 104 buyers from countries such as Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Botswana, Senegal, South Africa, and Kenya have confirmed their participation.

Additionally, the collaboration with the E4Impact Foundation, led by Letizia Moratti, focuses on supporting local entrepreneurship across 20 African countries. The 4th edition of E4Impact’s “Business Networking Week in Italy” (Milan, November 4-8, 2024) will emphasize the Circular Economy and will include a visit to Ecomondo.
