The Premier International Event for Energy Transition Kicks Off in Italy

The Rimini Expo Centre will become the epicenter of the energy transition world, hosting KEY – The Energy Transition Expo. This premier international event, organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), is poised to be its largest and most globally connected edition to date. Over 1,000 exhibitors will showcase their innovations across a sprawling 90,000 square meters, encompassing 20 exhibition halls.

Unprecedented Growth and International Reach

KEY 2025 has experienced remarkable growth, boasting a 20% increase in exhibitors compared to the 2024 event. This surge underscores the expo’s growing importance within the global energy landscape. A significant 35% of exhibitors will be international, highlighting the event’s global appeal. Furthermore, the presence of more than 250 top buyers and delegations representing 48 countries solidifies KEY’s position as a vital networking hub connecting Europe, Africa, and the Mediterranean region.

A Strengthened Global Presence and Strategic Partnerships

KEY 2025 is solidifying its status as a leading global force in the energy transition sector. This is thanks to strategic support from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), and collaborations with over 40 prominent international associations. A robust global network of agents has further expanded the event’s reach, fostering stronger international partnerships.

Leadership Perspectives on KEY’s Impact

Corrado Peraboni, CEO of IEG, emphasizes the expo’s expanding global influence: “With over 250 top buyers and delegations representing key markets such as North Africa, the Middle East, the Balkans, and Eastern Europe, KEY is expanding its global reach. The surge in international exhibitors further underscores its increasing global appeal.” Alessandra Astolfi, Global Exhibition Manager at IEG, adds, “The event has firmly established itself as a reference point for the global energy transition and efficiency community, driven by strong institutional support and international partnerships.”

Beyond its role as an exhibition, KEY serves as a catalyst for dialogue, collaboration, and innovation in the energy transition sector. Under the guidance of its Technical-Scientific Committee, chaired by Professor Gianni Silvestrini, KEY 2025 will feature a comprehensive international conference program. This program will delve into critical topics related to sustainability and energy innovation. Key sessions include the German-Italian Energy Talk, focusing on green hydrogen and organized by ITKAM and Deutsche Messe AG; Accelerating Sustainable Electrification, hosted by the RES4Africa Foundation, exploring electrification’s role in Africa’s development; and Decarbonising Italy’s Electricity, a critical analysis led by IBESA on Italy’s path to a low-carbon energy system.
