The United Arab Emirates builds on its legacy of environmental leadership, following the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The groundbreaking Blue Residency Visa program offers a 10-year residency permit to individuals making significant contributions to protecting our planet. This initiative aligns with the UAE’s Year of Sustainability.

Applications for the visa will be handled by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security. Coming after the successful COP28 conference and the landmark UAE Consensus, this program strengthens the UAE’s position as a global leader in environmental stewardship, sustainability, and nature conservation.

“The Blue Residency Visa perfectly complements the UAE’s extended Year of Sustainability, reflecting the nation’s remarkable COP28 hosting achievement,” said Dr. Sultan Al Jaber. “COP28 marked a paradigm shift, showcasing our unwavering commitment to international cooperation and a united global approach to climate change. This visa builds on that success, attracting environmental leaders to contribute to the UAE’s sustainable future. It underscores our dedication to leveraging advanced technologies like AI to create impactful solutions that transform climate challenges into opportunities for a brighter future.”

The Blue Residency Visa program aims to attract global environmental leaders, fostering the UAE’s sustainable economic and social development. This program highlights the nation’s commitment to using cutting-edge technology to create solutions for a brighter future for humanity and our planet.
