Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) has officially partnered with Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo to expand the international reach of Ecomondo and KEY – The Energy Transition Expo. These two premier exhibitions, renowned in the Green and Technology sector, will now be promoted in African and Middle Eastern countries as part of IEG’s broader internationalisation strategy.
This initiative aims to showcase advanced technologies and innovative solutions in climate change mitigation, sustainable waste management, and water resource optimisation. Ecomondo, in particular, will highlight developments in bioenergy and renewable energy, reinforcing Italy’s role as a key contributor to sustainable growth in these regions.
Presentation of Ecomondo 2025 to African and Middle Eastern Diplomats
Ecomondo 2025, scheduled to take place at the Rimini Expo Centre from 4th to 7th November, will be formally introduced to the African and Middle Eastern diplomatic community in Italy on Wednesday, 5th February, at Confindustria’s headquarters in Rome. This exclusive event will also see participation from officials of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering sustainable partnerships.
Over the following weeks, IEG will extend promotional efforts through the network of accredited Italian Embassies in these regions, ensuring widespread awareness among key stakeholders, policymakers, and industry leaders.
Africa Green Growth Forum: Strengthening Circular Economy Cooperation
A key highlight of Ecomondo 2025 will be the 5th edition of the Africa Green Growth Forum, a flagship event dedicated to deepening cooperation in the circular economy across Africa. This year’s forum will focus on emerging opportunities and sustainable development initiatives, with particular attention to the Mattei Plan. Recently extended to five additional countries—Angola, Ghana, Mauritania, Senegal, and Tanzania—this initiative is a testament to Italy’s growing engagement in Africa’s green transition.
African participation at Ecomondo has been steadily increasing, with last year’s edition hosting 169 business operators from the continent. This upward trend reflects the growing importance of sustainable solutions in Africa and the eagerness of local stakeholders to collaborate with international partners.
Through this strategic alliance, IEG, Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo, and their institutional partners are set to drive impactful collaborations, facilitating knowledge exchange and investment in sustainable technologies for the future.
