Ecomondo 2025: Charting the Global Future of Ecological Transition – Internationality Takes Center Stage at Europe’s Premier Green Economy Event

From 4 to 7 November 2025, Ecomondo, the flagship event by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), will return to the Rimini Expo Center. A leading platform in Europe and the Mediterranean basin for the green, blue, and circular economy, this 28th edition will be its most ambitious to date. Spanning 30 halls and 166,000 m² of exhibition space, Ecomondo 2025 will welcome international delegations, innovators, and sustainability leaders from around the world, reaffirming its position as a global catalyst for ecological transition.

Stronger Global Focus and Strategic Partnerships

Ecomondo 2025 will significantly strengthen its international outreach, with focus countries including Germany, Spain, Poland, Serbia, Turkey, and the Netherlands, as well as North African and Middle Eastern nations such as Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and others. Thanks to a strong partnership with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), over 80 international sector associations are expected to participate, expanding business opportunities across continents.

To further facilitate international attendance, IEG is launching direct flights to Rimini from Munich and Rome, operated by LuxWing from 4 to 7 November, ensuring smoother access for European and global professionals.

Return of SAL.VE and Major Institutional Presence

This year, Ecomondo will again host SAL.VE, the biennial Exhibition of Ecological Vehicles, organized in collaboration with ANFIA. Also returning is the States General of the Green Economy, curated by the Sustainable Development Foundation and supported by the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security, under the patronage of the European Commission.

Ecomondo’s international status is further cemented by the success of Ecomondo Mexico, Ecomondo China – CDEPE, and the upcoming Green Med Expo & Symposium in Naples (28–30 May 2025), all of which will be replicated in 2026.

Themed Areas and Sectoral Innovation Districts

Ecomondo 2025 will host six macro-themed areas:

  • Water Cycle & Blue Economy
  • Sites & Soil Restoration
  • Bioenergy & Agriculture
  • Earth Observation & Environmental Monitoring
  • Circular and Regenerative Bio-Economy

Complementing these will be dedicated vertical districts, such as:

  • Blue Economy District for marine ecosystem solutions
  • Circular Healthy City promoting sustainable urban models
  • Paper District for eco-friendly paper production
  • Textile District focusing on ethical fashion
  • Trenchless District featuring No-Dig technologies

At the core of innovation will be the Innovation District, with an expanded Start-Up & Scale-Up area and a spotlight on Green Jobs & Skills. The prestigious Lorenzo Cagnoni Award for Green Innovation will honour the most groundbreaking technologies from across the exhibition sectors.

Focus on Advanced Technologies, AI, and Decarbonization

Ecomondo 2025 will give center stage to strategic themes driving the ecological transition, including:

  • Advanced recycling of critical raw materials
  • Eco-design and sustainable packaging
  • AI and digitalization to accelerate green innovation
  • Satellite technologies for climate change mitigation
  • Industrial decarbonization, with a focus on textiles, energy, WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), and the construction sector
